I just got my information and registration brochure for PDA conference in Indianapolis. Every course offered looks great. How exciting!! Thanks to the sponsors, PDA, DANB, ADAA, and Dental Equipment & Materials magazine for putting this all together.

Anonymous...sorry you won't be able to attend the meeting in Indianapolis. We are hoping that, by working closely with the ADAA and DANB, this meeting can be a genesis point for smaller meetings around the country. We're already planning PDA 2007. Keep watching for details!

Who is affiliated with PDA? I have never heard of PDA...is this something new for dental assistants? Came to the website to learn more, but there is only information about the conference in Indianapolis and a comment/chat room, have I missed something? What does PDA offer that ADAA doesn't?

PDA is a first-of-its-kind conference for dental assistants. This is a new meeting that will become an annual event (plans are underway already for 2007). We work in conjunction with the ADAA and DANB, not as a competitor. PDA is offering CE and networking opportunities.

I am thinking about attending, how can I find someone to "hang out" with since I would be traveling alone. I am from Houston, Texas and am a dental assisting instructor. Also, could you help me with a hotel that is within walking distances, and transportation from the airport to the hotel?

Hi Niki...Here is a Web page that will help you find hotels in the downtown Indianapolis area (http://www.indy.org/indianapolis/web/jsp/wheretostay/results.jsp?x=1145940611375). Of course, the Hyatt Regency is where the meeting will be taking place, so we encourage you to stay there, but there are many options in downtown Indianapolis. Also, we are encouraging people to use this blog site as a way to find friends and/or roommates for the meeting. Keep checking back here to see if you find a new friend. Reagrding transportation from the airport, a cab ride is an estimated $25 from the airport to downtown. A share-a-ride program runs about $11.
